Rising From the Muck: A Lesson in Listening to My Body
If you read my last post (Under the Weather, and a Little Over It), you know I had a rough week battling a virus that knocked me off my feet—and a little upside the head too. Well, I’m happy to report: I’m feeling so much better now.
And it’s not just the absence of mucus and misery that’s made the difference. It’s something deeper. This time around, I stayed incredibly diligent about what I put into my body, focusing on foods and supplements that truly supported my healing, boosted my immune system, and nourished me from the inside out.
I became intentional about paying attention—listening when my body said "slow down," instead of bulldozing through fatigue like I usually do. That simple shift? It expedited my recovery in ways I hadn’t experienced before.
The Teaching Moment I Didn't Know I Needed
Even though I was operating below 100%, this experience turned out to be a huge teaching moment for me.
I realized how much I had been living on autopilot—pushing past signs of stress, dismissing small aches, assuming everything could "wait until later." Getting sick forced me to slow down, not just physically but mentally.
It made me recognize how powerful my thoughts are in shaping my day-to-day experience. When my mind started spiraling into frustration ("Why now? Why me?"), it affected my energy and my outlook. But when I took control back—choosing to focus on rest, gratitude, and healing—everything started shifting.
It wasn’t perfect. I still had rough days. But despite feeling low, I’ve never felt as productive as I did while recovering.
(And no, that’s not the DayQuil talking.)
A Glimpse Into What's Next
During those quieter moments, something inside me began stirring. I'm working on something—a project I can’t quite share yet—but I feel a deep sense of hope and excitement about where it may lead.
There's a different kind of magic that happens when you reclaim the energy you normally give away to worry, negativity, and things that don’t serve you.
Suddenly, you have the clarity, creativity, and drive to actually build something meaningful.
Taking the Power Back
Perspective is EVERYTHING.
When you take the power back from all the noise, the stress, and the doubt—you realize just how much strength you already have.
Your body starts healing itself.
Your mind becomes sharper.
Your spirit feels lighter.
And the world? It starts answering you in ways you never expected.
I'm not trying to sound "woo woo" here—trust me. I'm speaking from experience.
I still have a lot of work to do. There’s plenty I’m still learning about myself.
But I'm working on it. And I’m genuinely excited to see where this next road leads me.
A Challenge for You
So here’s my challenge—and encouragement—to you:
Don’t give power to anything that doesn’t serve you or fulfill your life.
Listen to your mind.
Listen to your body.
Trust that when you tune in, the universe will start giving you all the answers you need.
You have so much more power than you realize. Take it back.
I’m right here, doing the same. 🌟
Until next time, stay well 💛
Here’s to embracing the road ahead..
