The Power of Small Wins: Celebrating Progress, Not Perfection

Was it just me, or did 2024 feel like one of the most challenging years ever?

I lived through what felt like an endless climb up a mountain, reaching for the top, only to realize with every step that the peak was still 20,000 feet away. Every time I thought I was making progress, life had a way of knocking me back down.

We sold our home and had to move—one of the most stressful experiences anyone can go through. Then, later in the year, I was in one of the biggest car accidents of my life. I was rear-ended and sandwiched between two commercial vehicles. By some miracle, I walked away, but that moment shook me to my core. Not long after, a family member had a major health scare. We didn’t know if they’d even make it to the holidays. And as if the year hadn't been hard enough, we had to make the painful decision to put one of our beloved fur babes to rest. That pain? It’s one I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The guilt, the endless questioning—wondering if there was more we could have done. But sometimes, love means letting go, even when every part of you wants to hold on.

At times, it felt like everything was stacked against me. Like I was stuck on a hamster wheel, running but never getting anywhere. And for a while, I lived in the “why me” mindset. The "poor me" attitude. The exhaustion of feeling like nothing was going right. But here’s the truth:

You can only stay in that mindset for so long before it completely consumes you.

The Shift That Changed Everything

Something had to give. My perspective had to change.

Maybe I’ll share the details of this journey another time, but I’ve been investing in the financial markets for the past few years. It’s been a rollercoaster—drawdowns, frustration, mental blocks, anxiety. But despite having a rough year, when I shifted my perspective, things started to pay off. I became profitable. I found my confidence again.

Not just in investing, but in myself.

I reconnected with my creativity—photography, videos, storytelling. I started rebuilding my e-commerce journey, tapping into the resources I had ignored for so long. I finally launched this website. I shared my work with family and friends. I stopped overthinking and started doing.

And that’s when I realized: small wins matter.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea that success has to be something massive—something that completely changes your life overnight. But the truth? Progress happens in the small, consistent steps.

Stop Letting Life Be Your Excuse

I get it. You have a 9-5. You have a long commute. You have kids to take care of. You have dinner to cook, laundry to do, and not enough hours in the day. You’re exhausted.

Well, so am I (except my kids are my dogs).

The road isn’t pretty. It isn’t easy. But waiting for the “perfect” moment? That’s a losing game.

If you want to change something in your life—your career, your health, your creative pursuits—you have to make space for it. That doesn’t mean dropping everything and going all in overnight. It means starting small.

✅ Write down your goals.
✅ Build systems to keep you accountable.
✅ Carve out just 15 minutes a day for something that moves you forward.

The little things compound over time. You don’t have to wait for some grand, life-changing moment. You just have to start.

You’re Not Getting Any Younger—So Why Wait?

Let’s be real—no one is going to come and push you to chase your dreams. No one is going to carve out time for you. You have to fight for it.

We all want to see success stories that inspire us. We want proof that it’s possible. Be that proof for yourself.

It doesn’t have to be groundbreaking. It just has to be yours.

So go on—pick up that book, jot down that idea, start that project you’ve been putting off. Work on you.

Remember, PROGRESS, not perfection. You got this. 💪
